My wife and I had a wonderful day with Mike and Sabrina in late September. Staying in June Lake for a few days, we had a free day and decided at the last-minute to book a tour using their website. We received a call-back shortly from Mike confirming our reservation and arranging pick up at June Lake Brewing (JLB). We had lunch at JLB provided by the Ohanas 395 gourmet food truck while sampling several of their excellent beers. My wife, a self-admitted food snob, said the food was the best we had in the entire area including Mammoth. We sampled many JLB beers guided by Mike, a self-described beer geek who knew every beer on tap and described the hops and techniques used to create each brew. JLB is awesome and appears to be bringing lots of activity and energy to June Lake.
Next we were shuttled to Mammoth Brewing Co. in their new, large, clean 4-wheel drive van to sample Mammoth’s traditionals (Epic IPA, Double Nut Brown, …) and seasonals (The Not So Real McCoy, one of our favs). Mike described the various brewing stages by taking us upstairs to see the equipment behind the glass windows and outside by the parking lot.
Next we took a short drive to Black Doubt, a Nano brewery where each beer is brewed in small batches and is very fresh. We met owners and brewers Drew and his wife (sorry did not get her name) and received a detailed back-room tour of their new, super clean brewing equipment in action. Their brews were excellent, from Yeti Charmer IPA to No.Pit.Wit, a Belgium Wit reminiscent of a cherry sour beer we experienced in Brussels three years ago.
I highly recommend this tour – Mikes knowledge of beer making, and easy going personality and patience in describing everything to us, really increased our knowledge and appreciation for beer. My wife generally does not like beer, but enjoyed several of the beers recommended especially for her and had a great time on the tour. Sabrina was awesome and helped facilitate the entire tour.

Had a great brewery tour today with Matt and Sabrina! The whole experience from start to finish was exceptional. Booking a reservation was a snap, just logged on to their site and saved my party’s seats! They were on time at our pick up location (Rafters) and knew their way around the area, so we maximized our time at each brewery. We visited 3, June Lake Brewing, Mammoth Brewing Co and Black Doubt Brewing. We were provided with a great lunch from Ohana’s Hawaiian BBQ, which happens to be a top notch gourmet food truck (check them out under my reviews as well).
Matt had sampled all the beers at each brewery and was able to guide us based on our taste pallet as well. My favorites in case you need to know, GulllllLager from June Lake Brewing, Insatiable Saison (I might have the name wrong) from Black Doubt and the Gold Trout Ale from Mammoth Brewing.
This was a great afternoon spent in the Mammoth area. Good beer, good food and of course, the scenery! The van was also bitchin. Looked like something out of Universal Soldier (I’m old, I know).
Definitely plan on doing this again next summer, if not sooner!
Thanks Matt and Sabrina!

I got awarded a tour for winning employee of the month and it was a fantastic way to spend the afternoon with friends and co-workers! I loved the informative approach to the beer that I was consuming. This was not just your standard booze bus but a first class beer tour that explains and extrapolated on the different types of beer I was drinking. I must do for old hands and newbies looking for an exciting and interesting approach to some first class local, hand made beers!

Amazing beers in such a beautiful place… what more can you ask for!? Matt & Sabrina were amazing! Definitely check them out if your in town or makes for a great excuse to get away for a weekend in beautiful mammoth!
Black van picks you up at designated location (water & good music provided). Beautiful drive to location 1 – June Lake Brewery! Hawaiian style lunch on deck & TASTY beers on tap. An hour later on the road to location 2 – Mammoth Brewery. Lots of kids running around but it’s OK cause you can play corn hole with them. After beating everyone, onto location 3 – Blacked Doubt! It was the last stop with a more relaxing atmosphere (much needed).
HAD A BLAST!

I had the most enjoyable day with Mike and Sabrina King on their brewery tour. From the moment they picked me up in their beautiful van, I knew I made the right choice booking. Being a single, I was worried that I would be a fifth wheel, but everyone made me so welcome. The van was super deluxe, extremely comfortable, and the best way to drink beer and not have to worry about driving home. Each of the three breweries we went to had excellent beers to choose from. The King’s were able to describe the different beers making it easier to pick ones that satisfied each participants palate. The lunch from Ohana’s was delicious. Next time I would get the single ahi taco because the full lunch plate was way too much food. I had been to each of the breweries before, but on the tour I felt like I was part of the craft brew scene, and not just a walk-in customer. I recommend taking this tour with friends but even if you are flying solo, you will have a great time.

Excellent time had on this brew tour. Picked up in comfy van and hit three different breweries in the area. As I was traveling by motorcycle this tour allows me to have the beers and not have to drive. The breweries are great. Lunch food taste and timely as it was time for lunch. Owners Sabrina and Matt are friendly and knowledgeable. Recommend this and will do it again when I return to mammoth lakes.
